Where Our Produce Comes From

Week of February 6th, 2012
This Week's Produce Origins

This Week our pears, oranges, apples, kiwis, lemons, tangelos, grapefruits, tangerines, baby bok choy, Brussels sprouts, onions, fingerling potatoes, dill, red and gold creamer potatoes, lettuce, leeks, OrganicGirl baby spinach, radishes, shallots, mushrooms, yams and some of the russet potatoes, raspberries, strawberries, basil, broccoli, carrots, green onions, kale, and roma tomatoes were all grown in the US. The rest of the russet potatoes were grown in Canada. The rest of the raspberries, strawberries, basil, broccoli, carrots, green onions, kale, and roma tomatoes were grown in Mexico and so were the avocados, limes, asparagus, cucumbers, eggplants, grape tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, kabocha squashes, mini sweet peppers, bell peppers, red tomatoes and some of the garlic. The rest of the garlic was grown in Argentina. The blueberries are from Chile. The ginger is from Peru and Brazil. The mangoes are from Peru and Ecuador. The bananas are from Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Columbia.
